Orange Glazed Green Beans

  • 1 ½ pounds fresh whole green beans
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 ½ tablespoons butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • ½ cup Clearbrook Farms Orange Marmalade
  • 1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 – 8 oz. can water chestnuts, drained
  1. Wash beans and trim off the ends.  In a large stockpot, bring approximately three quarts of water to a boil.  Add beans and cook on medium-high heat for 2 or 3 minutes or until beans are “crisp-tender.”  Drain.  Set aside
  2. Mix ¼ cup of water and cornstarch together.  Place in a large saucepan and stir in remaining ingredients, except water chestnuts.  Bring to a boil.  Stir and cook over medium heat for 2 – 3 minutes.  When sauce is heated through and ingredients are blended, add green beans and water chestnuts, stirring to coat. 

Serve immediately.
